The Emergence Network

From Regenerative Knowledge Commons

The Emergence Network
We are a constellation of humans and nonhumans working together trans-locally to curate projects, rituals, conversations and events that nurture senses of the otherwise via practices that trouble the traditional boundaries of agency and possibility.

What is a Initiative profile

An Initiative profile is the first step for you, as a potentially transformative change-maker collective, to participate in the Regenerative Knowledge Commons.

The Main section contains:

  • a few required fields, such as brief description, email, associated localities, organization and membership types and page curator(s);
  • a summary of key relations and description of practice are provided here as well;
  • optionally there is also the ability to display multiple images, any relevant links (websites, social media, other affiliations), full social-entity name, start/end dates, a longer description, motivation for participating in RKC and legal structure (if any);

Other tabs contain:

  • and, Playlists & More section that provides a space to organize:
    • frequently used patterns and interventions
    • narratives about one's Initiative,
    • and essence entries for this Initiative from any RKC participant.
Initiative Profile for The Emergence Network
We seek to shock outmoded modes of perception and action. We want to show how human bodies are changing, how whales and discarded pieces of gum are also ‘activists’, how remembering ancestry has political consequences, how thought is not a human feature, how bodies secrete time, and how slowing down in times of urgency makes sense in specific circumstances – especially now.

The Emergence Network surfaces at a time when there seems to be a felt need for ‘alternative’ modes of engaging with our more troubling realities. What we offer are ways of diving into the cracks in our skins, processes that allow us notice that there are other items on the menu. That there are other places of power.

Our work is to make more room available for movement – to emancipate action and responsiveness from its narrow humanist confines. Our approach takes for granted the fact that humans can no longer be centralized in our conceptions of change – and that, instead, we must begin to take into consideration the eco-cultural environments that are the conditions for our acting.

Our work is to facilitate conversations, curate assemblies, foster trans-disciplinary and trans-professional interactions, convene events that mobilize people into exploring the occluded and the invisible, and nurture regenerative practices that allow for other compelling questions and values to be articulated in the face of crisis.

Playlists & More

[edit]

About Patterns Tab...

The Patterns tab allows for the compilation of an organizational playlist of frequently-used Patterns--practices, processes, frameworks, tools, capacities, livelihoods and any other elements of transformative action.

Pattern is a generative field, in that a new entry can prompt the creation of a new Pattern page, using a red link.

[edit]

About Processes Tab...

The Interventions tab allows for the compilation of a Initiative playlist of frequently-used Interventions--unique instances of potentially transformative actions.

Interventions derived from Patterns, stand a better chance to be transformative. The aim is for our Interventions to be well-conceived, context-specific and consciously applied.

Intervention is a generative field, in that a new entry can prompt the creation of a new Intervention page, using a red link.

About Elements Tab...

The Narratives tab enables Initiatives to create relevant narrative elements about themselves, such as stories, descriptions, past experiences, and happenings.

About Essence Tab...

The Essence tab allows for anyone in RKC (including members of collective) to comment on what makes you unique along three different dimensions:
  • Aliveness: What energizes a collective that really makes it come alive, beyond the functional of everyday existence.
  • Offering: The unique value a collective offers in order to bring a higher-order of viability and vitality to, or evolve a particular system they are working to transform (this is context specific).
  • Potential: A tendency in a collective that it is continually striving to manifest into existence.

Over time, this feature can offer deeper insights to what each collective as a whole brings to this co-creative space.
